Mrs. Everett Hanson funeral held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Everett Hanson of Forest City were conducted Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest City. The Rev. Steven Dornbusch and the Rev. Ole Winter officiated.

Donald Meyer was soloist, accompanied by Norma Boomgarden, organist.

Casket bearers were Eugene Baker, Robert Keel, Robert Langfald, Marlon Hanson, Erwin Nerem and Eldon Willis. Burial was in Madison Township cemetery.

Mrs. Hanson, 59, was stricken with an apparent heart attack Friday evening while having dinner with her husband and friends in Britt. She died shortly after arriving at Hancock County Memorial hospital.

Dorothy M. Hanson, the daughter of Joe and Harriet Paul Stangler, was born July 15, 1925, at Plymouth. She received her education in the Mason City school district.

Oct. 12, 1946, she was married to Everett Hanson in the Fireside Room of Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest City. The couple farmed near Forest City for many years before moving to Forest City in 1968. From 1977 to 1982, Mrs. Hanson was employed at Greatwestern Products in Forest City.

Survivors include her husband. Everett; three children, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Hanson of Forest City, Mrs. Wayne (Rosalyn) Berhow of Kanawha and Tech. Sgt. DuWayne Hanson. USAF of Altus, Okla.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and her mother, Mrs. Harriet Stangler of Mason City.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Earl (Margaret) Hanson and Mrs. Morris (Elizabeth) Gregory, both of Mason City, Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) White of Ventura and Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Krutsinger of Clear Lake, and two brothers, Edward and Donald Stangler, both of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Lorraine Anderson, and a brother, Joseph Stangler.
