Services for M. Luella Hansmeier, 92, Crystal Lake, who died Monday, May 22, 1989 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt; were held Wednesday, May 24, 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake with Rev. Ed Elliott officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Donald Hansmeier, who accompanied a duet of Linda Hansmeier and Darlene Thompson. Ushers were Donald Cottington and Galen Wooge.

Casket bearers were Ray Hobbs, Clyde Hobbs, James Hobbs, Vernon Hansmeier, Lyle Doege and John Ree.

Burial was at the Crystal Township Cemetery at Crystal Lake with Ewing Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

M. Luella Hansmeier, the daughter of August and Anna Cummings Bratt, was born September 4, 1896 at Hudson. At an early age she moved to the Britt area where she attended the country schools.

She married Edward Hansmeier and the couple farmed north of Britt, then later moved to Crystal Lake. In 1974, she became a resident of the Westview Care Center in Britt. May 5, she was admitted to the Hancock County Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Crystal Lake United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Calvin and his wife, Geraldine of Forest City, and Donald and his wife, Darlene of Corwith; four grandchildren, Michael of Forest City, Joan and husband, Ronald C. Smith of Clear Lake, Peggy and husband, Captain Ronald L. Smith of Algona, and Dale of St. Paul, MN; four great-grandchildren, Donovan, Andrew, James and Richard; two sisters, Blanche Claude and her husband, Fred of Minneapolis, MN and Alice Brhum of Hawthorne, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild.
