Services for Anna K. Christians, 86, Klemme, who died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1991 in Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, were held Saturday, Nov. 2, 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. Don Walters officiating.

Music was provided by organist. Diane Stadtlander, who accompanied a duet of Ronald "Boots" Brinkman and Alice Brinkman.

Honorary casket bearers were Joel Johanns, Patrick Christians and Michael Christians.

Active bearers were Tom Christians, Tim Christians, Travis Christians, Steven Christians, Jeffrey Christians, Edward Christians, Matthew Christians and Alan Johanns.

Burial was at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme with Tenold Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Anna Katherine Christians, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Thomsen) Merkel, was born August 16, 1905 in Greene County, IN.

December 2, 1925, she married Edward Christians at her parents farm home. They made their home on farms in the Klemme area, and moved to Klemme in 1948. After the death of Edward in 1954 she continued to live in Klemme until ill health placed her in Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

Ann was an Avon lady in the Klemme area for over 25 years. in 1977 she was named outstanding senior citizen for her contributions in helping organize senior activities in the community. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Ladies Guild,Garden Club, Grandmother's Club and Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie Christians of Klemme; son, Raymond Christians and his wife. Marjorie of Joplin. MO: daughter, Lois Ann and her husband, Clarence "Joe" Johanns of Ames; son, James Christians and his wife, Gail of Graven, MI; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband. Edward; son, Clarence; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben, Alfred, Walter and Lester; and sisters, Freda, Clara and Marie.
