Hold services for Mrs. Carl Caltvedt

Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Caltvedt of Forest City were held Wednesday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest City. The Rev. John Hieronymus and the Rev. Ole Winter officiated.

Norma Boomgarden was organist. Casket bearers were Carroll Brekke, Stanley Egland, Myron Johnson, Harold Knutson, William Olson and Charles Wilson.

Burial was in Madison Township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Caltvedt, 81, collapsed and died at her home while preparing to go to church Sunday.

Mae Caltvedt was born Aug. 23, 1899, near Stanhope to William and Mathilda Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at a church near Stanhope. March 24, 1926, she was married to Carl Caltvedt at St. Paul's Lutheran parsonage near Stanhope.

The couple farmed in Story county until they purchased a farm near Leland in 1940. The moved to the farm in 1941 and continued to live there until moving to Forest City in 1968. Mr. Caltvedt died March 16, 1980.

Mrs. Caltvedt was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church.

Survivors include her two children. Clifford Caltvedt of Buffalo Center and Mrs. Emil (Viola) Junior Damm of Forest City; seven grandchildren, Darlene, Betty and Calvin Caltvedt, Linda Smith, David, Michael and Steven Damm; a brother, Jasper Olson of Bella Vista, Ark.; and a sister, Mrs. Wilma Brekke of Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Daryl Caltvedt, a brother, Arnold Olson, and seven sisters. Tena Knutson, Belle Bump, Josie Johnson, Mable Johnson. Bertha Steffenson, Anne Egland and Gladys Wilson, and a half-sister, Gurrie Hanson.
