After the war he came to live in Forest City and after a number of years became a suffer in poor health. He went in search of improved health to California and also Florida. This fall he went to the soldiers home in Hot Springs, South Dakota where he died on Tuesday evening, October 19.

His son Felisgand accompanied the remains from the sanitarium to Forest City. The funeral services were held at the home of his old friend Mr. Core and the remains were interred in the Madison Cemetery south of town by the side of his wife who died three years ago.
