HUBBARD - At his home in Ellington township, Hancock county, on Friday, Nov. 24, 1893, Mr. Jabez Hubbard, age 70 years.

Jabez Hubbard was born at Fulton, Oswego county, N. Y., Aug. 15, 1823. He removed to Hebron. Wis. in 1846, and in 1849 was married to Miss Amanda Thayer. He served in the U.S. army during the war and received an honorable discharge.

In 1869 he moved to Ellington, Hancock county, Iowa, where he lived up to the time of his death. He was a kind husband and father, a generous and reliable friend, a good neighbor and a man whose integrity has never been questioned.

The funeral was held at the Center School House, last Sunday, Rev. J. D. Mason performing the last sad rites and the remains were laid to rest in Ellington cemetery.
