Lawrence Evanson 1927-2003
Word has been received of the death of Lawrence Evanson, Thornton, Colorado, formerly of Garner. Mr. Evanson died Monday, February 24, 2003. He was 75.
Funeral services were held on February 27, at the Rundus Funeral Home in Broomfield, Colorado. Private graveside services are planned for March 15, at the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.
Lawrence Evanson was born September 29, 1927 in Miller. He was the son of Edward and Anna (Fagen) Evanson. He lived in Garner about 50 years, living with his step-father, Hans Rustad and three sisters, Fern Erickson, Eva Jass and Mazie Paulson. He moved to Colorado about five years ago to live with his sister, Velva Cope.
At age 75, Lawrence was the oldest living person with Downs Syndrome. Lawrence was a joy to all and a reminder that life is to love and to love is living.
Survivors include his sister, Velva Cope of Thornton, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Merle, Milton, Bob and Perlie; and four sisters, Edna, Fern, Eva and Mazie.
