Mrs. Emma Gibbs, Klemme Postmistress Died Suddenly Mon.
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon At Methodist Church, Klemme

Klemme and the surrounding community was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Emma Gibbs, who died at her home at 11:50 Monday night, March 23.

She was at her duties in the post office as usual Monday and about eight o'clock began to feel ill and death, which resulted from acute acholecystites, occurred before midnight.

Emma Augusta Terhufen, daughter of Henry and Wilhelmine Terhufen, was born in Floyd county, Iowa, and later came to Hancock County. She was united in marriage with Arthur C. Gibbs at Klemme in 1904. He passed away twenty years ago. Three sons survive her. They are: Charles of Mason City and Frank and Donald who are attending Morningside college at Sioux City.

Following the death of her husband she taught in the Klemme schools and for the past eight years has been postmistress. Through her public work she formed a large acquaintanceship and she was beloved by all with whom she came in contact.

A brother, Frank Terhufen, has been making his home with Mrs. Gibbs and she also leaves to mourn her passing two other brothers, Will, of Fertile, Minn.; and John, who resides west of Klemme.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Klemme and burial will be made in the Ell township cemetery.
