C. J. "Pete" Larsen
1930 - 1998A private family service will be held for C. J. "Pete" Larsen, 68, Klemme, who died Wednesday, April 22, 1998 at Iowa Methodist Hospital.
C. J. "Pete" Larsen, the son of Clarence A. and Rosa M. Larsen, was born January 27, 1930. He graduated from Klemme High School and Iowa State University. Upon graduation, he served as an officer in the Korean War, earning a Bronze Star.
After the war, he returned to Klemme as owner-operator of Larsen's Grocery Store and Meat Market and Larsen's Stockyards and Cattle Company. C. J. also served as mayor of Klemme and as a member of the school board.
He is survived by his wife; three children, C. Edward of Colorado, Laraine (Veldhouse) of Illinois, and Stephanie (Dirks) of Wisconsin; a grandson, Thomas James; his sister, Lavonne of Nebraska; two step-children and their families; nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna (Heivilin); an infant son; and his sister, Eunice (Denmark).
The family asks that any memorial gifts be sent to the National Cancer Foundation in his name.
