************************************************************

James “Jim” Burton Eenhuis, age 65, of Covington Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Atlanta Medical Center. Jim’s passing was the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on his way to a motorcycle gathering, Thursday, January 27th.

Jim was born on December 23, 1945 in Kanawha, Iowa, to the late John and Lida (Griffen) Eenhuis. He attended high school in Klemme, Iowa, and graduated in 1963. After graduation, he worked for many employers in northern Iowa, including Iowa Mold Tooling Company, as a welder. Upon receiving his certifications, he became an insurance agent and financial planner for Ozark National Life. Later in his career, he moved to the Atlanta area, and worked for Hill Phoenix in Conyers, Georgia, retiring in 2004.

Jim married Cindy Leighty on March 3, 2001 in Gainesville, Ga. Jim’s passions were his walk with God, his neighborhood, and motorcycles. He was an active member of the Social Circle United Methodist Church, and loved helping his family and friends. His favorite hobby, without a doubt, was motorcycles. He could spend hours polishing, tweaking, or just plain talking about them. He loved everything about them, including the history, sights, sounds, and smells. He spent his leisure time traveling to motorcycle events across the U.S., and enjoyed helping his “Brothers” repair and customize their rides. He was also an active participant in motorcycle related causes, and was a member of Southern Cruisers, ABATE of Georgia & Iowa, AMA, and the Harley Owner’s Group “HOG”. His membership involvement brought him much happiness, purpose, and an extended family of “Brothers and Sisters”.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Elaine Stroud.

Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy of Covington, Georgia; his three sons from a previous union to Lois Block, Brian & Cindy Eenhuis of Melbourne, FL, Bruce Eenhuis of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, and Brad & Stephanie Eenhuis of Iowa City, IA; step daughter, Brandy & Curt Ricker of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandchildren, Taylor, Alexa, Eva, CJ, and Gavin; sisters, Rosalie & James Prescott of Klemme, IA, and Marylin & Robert Roisum of O’Fallon, MO.

Funeral services will be held 6 o’clock, Tuesday, February 1st at the Social Circle United Methodist Church in Social Circle, GA with Pastor Richard Noth officiating. Arrangements by Henry Funeral Home, Social Circle.
