Louise C. Boehnke, 94, of Clear Lake, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Mercy-One North Iowa Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, near Garner, with the Rev. Carl Hedberg officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Louise Cheston Boehnke, the daughter of John and Helen (Slingluff) Maxwell, was born Jan 4, 1925, in Philadelphia, Penn. She graduated from high school in Pennsylvania and the worked for the Sun Oil Company. She was married to Robert Teeter and to this union two daughters were born, Linda and Dani. After moving to Iowa, Louise then married Roland Boehnke on Oct. 25, 1958, at St John’s Lutheran Church. To this union, two daughters were born, Joanne and Sally Ann. They lived on a farm north of Ventura all of their married life.

Louise was employed at Clear Lake Aluminum Plant for several years and Opportunity Village, now One Vision, where she retired after 30 years. She also taught piano lessons in the area for many years. In 2017, she moved to Apple Valley Assisted Living, in Clear Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, sewing, and in her younger years, swimming. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served as church organist for over 50 years. She also belonged to LWML, the Lutheran Organ Guild and Aqua Belles, in Clear Lake.

Louise is survived by her three daughters, Linda Galindo (special friend, Doug McElroy), of Mason City, Dani Rollefson, of Clear Lake, and Joanne (Jim) Winkelman, of Clear Lake; four grandchildren, Cory Christianson (special friend, Delia O’Donnell), Wyatt Winkelman, Walker Winkelman (special friend, Tjaden Kramer) and Reva Winkelman; three nephews, Alan (Kim) Maxwell, Mark (Layla) Maxwell, David (Sandy) Maxwell; and three great-nieces, Paige Maxwell (special friend, Jarret Winger), Leah Maxwell and Laura (Banks) Forester; and a great-nephew, Kevin Maxwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland; infant daughter, Sally Ann; and two brothers, Alan and John Maxwell.

Arrangements were with Cataldo Funeral Home, Garner.
