Donald Dean Burgess

Donald Dean Burgess, 48, Hampton, died Friday, October 14, at Franklin General Hospital. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were held Monday, October 17 at the United Methodist Church in Goodell, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. Burial was in Amsterdam Cemetery, rural Goodell. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home was in charge.

He was born December 13, 1934 in Hancock County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burgess. He was married to Peggy Eaton June 11, 1960 at Maquoketa. They moved to Hampton in 1969. He was an equipment operator for Franklin County.

Burgess is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kimberly and Lynn, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burgess of Goodell; one sister, JoAnn Burgess of Clear Lake and one brother, Thomas of Corvallis, Ore.

He had served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
