FOREST CITY - Roger D. Kamp, 67, of Forest City died Saturday (September 22, 2007) at Mercy Medical Center- North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Thursday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with Rev. John Planz officiating. Burial will be in Madison Township Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Forest City Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Roger Duane Kamp, the son of Vernon Henry and Mildred Louise (Steile) Kamp, was born July 24, 1940 at Austin, MN. He attended the rural schools near Brownsdale, MN. Roger served his country in the U.S. Army being stationed in Germany. On November 27, 1965 he married Virginia Mary Earl at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Austin, MN. They lived in Forest City where Roger was employed at Winnebago Industries for 35 years, retiring in January of 2001. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Forest City; three children, Sue Leuwerke and special friend, Steve Sprecher, of Scarville, Bruce Kamp and wife, Deb, of Leland, and Barb Wolf and husband, Scott of Forest City; grandchildren, SPC Matthew Leuwerke, CPL Andrew Leuwerke and wife, Cristy, Kristin Leuwerke, and Justin Wolf; brothers and sisters, Joyce Carlson and husband, Cliff, of St. Paul, MN, Jean Thompson of Forest City, Laverne Kamp and wife, Jerry, of Austin, MN, Patty Schaeffer and husband, Bernard, of Austin, MN, David Kamp and wife, Mary, of Austin, MN, Charlie Kamp of Hook, TX, Rita Earl and husband, Arnold, of Austin, MN, Karen Torvik and husband, John, of California, Doug Kamp of Austin, MN, Keith Kamp of Austin, MN, Debbie Wood and husband, Leonard, of Owatonna, MN, Scott Kamp and wife, Denise, of Austin, MN, Marjorie Distad of Albert Lea, MN and Linda Meyer and husband, Jerry, of Pepin, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; a sister, Joanne Lester; brothers, Raymond and Rick Kamp; sister-in-law, Margaret Kamp; and brothers-in-law, Roger Distad, Don Earl and Joe Earl.
