Services for Dorothy Margaret Weiland will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Wesley, Iowa. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, Iowa. Casketbearers are her grandsons, Terrance Weiland, Todd Weiland, Troy Weiland, Christopher Weiland, Timothy Weiland, Jason Weiland, James Weiland and Stacy Olson. The Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Algona, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Margaret Weiland was born on October 1, 1909, in Wesley, Iowa, to Amos and Lizzie Ann Seefeld Angle. She received her education in the rural school system near Wesley. Dorothy was married to Raymond Richard Weiland on June 9, 1932, at Britt, Iowa. The couple farmed around Wesley until 1974, when they retired and moved into Algona, Iowa. Dorothy's husband, Raymond preceded her in death in July of 1976.

Dorothy was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she also belonged to the United Methodist Women. Dorothy was also a member of the Algona Sr. Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, growing flowers and listening to music. She became a resident of the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona in May of 2000. She died there on Monday, May 20, 2002, at the age of 92.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Phyllis Olson and husband, Larry of Jonsboro, Arkansas, Wendel Weiland and wife, Mary Ilah of Algona and Ronald Weiland and wife, Caecilia of Wesley. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brother, Earl Angle of Fallbrook, California; and her sister-in-law, Esta Angle of Swea City, Iowa.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her son, Kendall in 1997; 2 sisters, Minnie Fuchsen and DeEtta Jackowell; her brother, Clayton Angle; and 2 daughters-in-law, Elaine and Bev Weiland.
