John W. Kester

Former Hancock County resident, John W. Kester, died July 15, 2002 in Marshalltown. He was 93.

Funeral services for Mr. Kester were held Monday, July 22, at the United Methodist Church of Forest City. The Rev. Gary Marzolf officiated. Music was provided by organist, Nancy Farndale who accompanied soloist, Jim Manderfield.

Casket bearers were Lori Manderfield, David Kester, Dan Kester, Sara Cornette, Amanda Kester, Nathan Kester, Adam Kester and Michele Wonsang. Burial was in the Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City. The Petersen Lund Funeral Home of Forest City was in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial service was held at Friday, July 19, at The Embers in Marshalltown.

John W. Kester was born in Brookings, South Dakota, on September 13, 1908. He was the son of Walter and Otheal (Easterly) Kester.
