Services set for Rev. R. Ormsby

Funeral services for Rev. Robert A. Ormsby will be held Thursday (today) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery at Britt. Fulton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Principal celebrant of the Mass will be The Most Rev. James J. Byrne, Archbishop of Dubuque. Cocelebrants of the Mass are Rev. Donald J. Axen, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Duane A. Brady, Rev. Raymond S. Bohrer, Very Rev. John P. Chihak, Very Rev. Alvin P. Heuring, Rev. Albert J. Hoffman, Rev. Edward J. McNulty and Very Rev. Leander H. Reicks.

Pallbearers selected are Frank Scholl of Mason City, Robert Kirschbaum of Fort Dodge, Everett Ormsby, Joseph Ormsby and Thomas Ormsby, all of Marshalltown and James Ormsby of Ventura.

Rev. Ormsby died Monday at Mercy hospital in Mason City.

Robert Aloyishis Ormsby was born Nov. 13, 1885, at Rockwell, the son of Thomas and Marguerite Drumm Ormsby. He received his education at St. Thomas college and St. Paul Seminary.

Rev. Ormsby served the St. Francis - St. Mary's parish for 28 years. He celebrated his 50th year in the priesthood in 1968. Shortly afterwards he retired and moved to Mason City.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include three sisters: Sister Celesta of Sinsinawa Mound, Wis., Mrs. John (Marguerite) O'Hern and Rose Ormsby, both of Mason City.
