Services for Edwin J. Medaus, 85, of Klemme, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 1990 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the United Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Jerry Robertson as officiant.

Mrs. Robert Schulz was organist. Ushers were Calvin Bruggeman and Robert Scott.

Casket bearers were Curtis Peck, Richard Baack, John Buns, Merle Pannhoff, Jake Lewerke and Clyde Tannahill.

Burial was in Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Edwin John Medaus, the son of Carl E. and Emma E. (Baack) Medaus, was born November 3, 1905 on a farm east of Klemme. After attending the rural schools of Hancock County, he worked for various farmers in the Klemme area.

January 27, 1931, he married Doris Heginger at the United Methodist Church in Klemme. They lived in Klemme all their married life. Ed worked at various jobs in Klemme, including maintenance work at the Klemme Cooperative Grain Company, until he retired in the mid 1970's.

After his wife's death, February 2, 1983, he moved to Concord Care Center in Garner. Due to ill health, he had been at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt the past two years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Adeline Peck and her husband, Duane of Ventura; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Howard, and her husband, Ned of Sterling, FL.; and a son-in-law, Stennis Harms of Clarion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Medaus; his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Harms; an infant son, LeRoy Medaus; his parents; a brother, Carl Medaus; and a sister, Helen Medaus.
