Goodell - Mrs. F. W. McNutt died quite suddenly at her home here Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Though she had been ill for the past 1 1/2 years with heart disease, she had felt unusually well the last few weeks. That evening she had assisted with the supper work and was enjoying a visit with her son, Robert and Mrs. Church when she suddenly slumped in her chair and died.

Clara M. Stogsdill, daughter of Barbara and Coleman Stogsdill, was born near Bondurant, June 28, 1875 and died on Nov. 22, 1946, at the age of 71 years. She spent her early childhood near Alden, and moved to Goodell with her parents when a young girl.

On June 21, 1891 she was married to Francis W. McNutt of Goodell and since have continued to make their home here. Six children were born to this marriage.

Mrs. McNutt united with the United Brethren church several years ago, her devotion to her husband and children and appreciation of nature, reflected the spirit of true christianity which she exemplified in every way and was her paramount comfort during illness and tribulations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on April 6, 1946; her parents and one sister.

She leaves to mourn, her six children; Mrs. Bill Berky, (Glen) of Garrison; Mrs. Carl Chronister (Gail) of Decatur, Ill, Ill.; Robert McNutt, Mrs. Elmer Kienenberger (Alma) both of Goodell; Mrs. A. M. Whitaker (Ethel) of Spencer and Verle F. McNutt of Marion; 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Brown of Maxwell, Mrs. Ida Weygandt, Mrs. Mamie Smith, both of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Francis McNutt, Salem, Ore.

Funeral services were held from her home Monday afternoon at 1:30 and from the local United Brethren church at 2:00 o'clock with the pastor Rev. Catleton Spencer officiating. Music was furnished by the church quartet, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Cook, Mrs. Russell Bell and V. E. Harris with Mrs. Ernie Kurtz at the piano, singing the favorite songs loved by Mrs. McNutt.

The pallbearers were A. G. McMullen, H. E. Savogue, A. O. Hanson, L. G. Avery, W. T. Butts and Henry Nolte.

Interment was made in the family lot in Amsterdam cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Berkey and Joan of Garrison, Mrs. Carl Chronister of Decatur, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Verl McNutt of Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Whitaker and Judy of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Whitaker of Spencer came Sunday, called here by the death of their mother, Mrs. F. W. McNutt.
