Gundvel Johnson

Kanawha - Funeral services for Gundvel Johnson, 74, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Kanawha Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Kanawha Cemetery with the Carter Funeral Home in charge. He died Tuesday following a long illness.

Born in Story County, May 7, 1890, he came to Wright County as a small child. He was married to Nellie Hanson Dec. 1, 1915. They had lived in Kanawha since 1914.

Surviving are his wife, five daughters, Lavonne Freeman, Goldfield; Arlene Engh, Marshalltown; Audrey Friedow, Goodell; Delores Severson, Luther, Iowa; Margene Thompson, Mason City; three sons, Kennie, Roger and Glenn, all of Kanawha; 27 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
