Goodell - Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bohn Funeral Home, Garner, for J. C. (Chris) Hanson, 88, Goodell.

Mr. Hanson died Thursday at a Belmond hospital. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Wallace Stark officiating.

Survivors include a daughter, Marvel, Des Moines; two sons, James, Bellflower, Calif.; and Erwin, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters.

J. C. Hanson, 88

J. C. (Chris) Hanson, Sr., 88, Goodell, died Thursday evening, March 7, at the Belmond Community Hospital. He was born December 24, 1879, at Britt. On October 9, 1912, he was united in marriage to Martha Nelson at Britt. To this union three children were born, Marvel, Des Moines; James C., Jr., Bellflower, California; and Irwin of Clear lake.

Mr. Hanson was the manager of the Woodford Wheeler Lumber Company at Garner and a drainage contractor for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, one sister, Mary, and one brother, E. P. (Peck) Hanson.

Survivors include his three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Lena) Lindberg, Brookings, North Dakota, and Mrs. John (Gertie) Prull of Loveland, Colorado.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 11, at the Bohn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wallace Stark officiating. The services were held at 2 p.m.. The Rev. Stark used as his text, II Timothy 1:10, with the meditation, "Our Saviour Abolished Death." Comfort in music was supplied by organ selections of sacred hymns.

The pallbearers were: Verner Hamilton, Curtis Liscomb, Robert Engstler, Gregg Arnold, Arnold Hampel, and Wilmer Gilles.

Mr. Hanson was laid to rest in the Concord cemetery just south of Garner.
