Anna Marie Olson
March 12, 1923 - August 4, 2008

BRITT - Anna Marie Olson, 85, of Britt died Monday (August 4, 2008) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Britt with Janelle Siffring, AiM, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Anna Marie Olson, the daughter of William and Cora (Marth) Prull, was born March 12, 1923, in Orthel Township, Hancock County. She attended the rural schools of Orthel Township. Following her schooling, she worked in Britt at the Hemp plant, waitressed and did housekeeping. On January 16, 1950, she was married to Maurice Olson at First Lutheran Church in Britt. They lived in Britt for a short time before moving to a farm west of Britt where they raised their family. They later moved back into Britt where Anna Marie remained until 2003 when entered Westview Care Center. She enjoyed collecting dolls, flowers, stitch work, crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and FLCW where she held various offices. She taught Sunday School, was a Bible school supervisor and was the church janitor for a number of years. Anna Marie also belonged to a country neighborhood birthday club and was a member of the Bell Choir at Westview Care Center.

Anna Marie is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Gary) Kahlstorf of Britt; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mehman of Greene; four grandchildren, Jason Kahlstorf of Glen Ellyn, IL, Kelle Kahlstorf (fiance', Corey Stohr) of Britt, Casey Olson of Lake City and Justin Pecoy of Greene; a sister, Alma (Melvin) Pergande of Britt; a brother-in-law, William Huber of Mesa, AZ; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Olson of Ottumwa; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, in 1991; son, Ronald, in 1988; her parents; two sisters, Margarette Will and Viola Huber; and two brothers, Herbert and Leonard Prull.
