Mrs. C. E. Littler died at her home in Britt Monday afternoon, June 13, 1905, at five o'clock after a lingering illness of nearly a year. The deceased had suffered from cancer of the stomach and several weeks ago went to Rochester, Minn., for an operation, which was successful and she recovered nicely, but had since developed gall stones which with a complication of inflammation of the kidneys was the immediate cause of her death.

Mrs. Litter, whose maiden name was Debbie Allen, was born in Clifton, Ohio, in 1852. She was married on January 20, 1876, to Mr. C. E. Littler. They remained in Ohio until 1888 when they came to Britt, which has since been their home. She leaves her husband and four children, three boys and one girl, to mourn her loss. All of them live in Britt except one son, Edward, who resides at Moorehead, Minnesota.

Mrs. Litter was a good christian woman, a loving wife and mother, and greatly respected by all who knew her. She had been a consistent member of the Congregational church for many years and also belonged to the Rebekah and Modern Brotherhood lodges. The funeral services were held at the Congregational church on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Marshall officiating and the daughters of Rebekah performing the last sad rites at the grave.
