Roger Bamman Rites; Klemme

Klemme (Special): - Roger Bamman, 34, Klemme, died early Saturday morning at a Veteran's hospital at Iowa City.

Services for Mr. Bamman were held at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Klemme, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 17. Words of comfort were spoken by the Rev. E. H. Laurer, pastor. Hymns were sung by: Ray Wille, Milvern Barz, Edwin Thiemann, and Edward Barz, accompanied by Miss Joyce Thiemann. The honor guard of the V.F.W. participated in military services.

Interment was made in Ell Township cemetery. Pallbearers were: Eldon Hagen, Lyle Goll, Allen Lau, Eldridge Alden, Robert Baack, and Duane Christians.

Roger Berthald Bamman, son of Richard and Ella Bamman, was born at Eldora August 31, 1924. When he was three years of age the family moved to Chicago, Ill. They made their home in Chicago until Roger was 12 years of age at which time they came to the Klemme Community, which he considered home for the rest of his life.

On October 5, 1947, Roger and Dolores Wood were united in marriage at Clear Lake, after which they established their home near Klemme. They became the parents of two daughters, Kathryn and Barbara.

Mr. Bamman was a life-long member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, Klemme. He served in the armed forces for two years, much of that time was spent in Germany.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5515 of Garner.

He had been in the hospital for two weeks but underwent brain surgery at Iowa City in September. He underwent heart surgery several years ago and since that time had been unable to work.

Surviving in the immediate family are his wife: his children, Kathryn and Barbara: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bamman: an older brother, Leroy: and his twin brother, Robert. Aunts and uncles, a niece and nephew, as well as other relatives and friends also survive.
