Lions Club Conducts Services for Head of Garner Newspaper

Garner - Private funeral rites were conducted Wednesday morning at the Carl W. Bohn funeral home for W. G. Williams, publisher since 1926, of the Garner Leader and Signal.

The Garner Lions club was in charge of services, and burial was made in Concord cemetery. A eulogy was given by Hancock County Attorney Clark Lovrien of Britt and music was supplied by the Garner Lions quartet, Clint Daniels, George Free, County Auditor Fred C. Missel and Carl Schneider.

Six Nephews served as pallbearers. They are Joe Tobin, Carl Engstler, Virgil Tobin and Bernard Engstler, all of Garner; Luin Cox of Humboldt, and Billie Williams of Des Moines.

As an expression of respect to Mrs. Williams, all Garner Business and professional firms remained closed from 10 to 11 o'clock Wednesday morning.

The Leader and Signal office was closed for the day and publication, which is normally on Wednesday, was completed Tuesday night.
