George Earl Smith, World War Veteran, Dies at Des Moines

Britt - Funeral services for George Earl Smith, who died Saturday morning at the Veterans hospital at Des Moines, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church with the American Legion Post 315 in charge of the military honors. The Rev. C. K. McNary preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in Britt Evergreen cemetery,

Mr. Smith was a World war veteran and was a member of the Eighth company C. A. C. He had been in ill health for a number of years and was a patient at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines several times. He died there June 14 after a week's illness from pneumonia. He is survived by his wife and five children.

The body was shipped to the Boughton funeral home Sunday morning.
