Mrs. N. A. Schlichting Dies at Daughter's Home Near Forest City

Garner - Mrs. N. A. Schlichting died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Jefson, near Forest City early Sunday morning. She had been ill since August, 1939.

Elsa Piearson was born in Eckhohm, Sweden, Aug. 16, 1857. At the age of 13 she went to Schleswig Holstein, Germany, where she worked for some years.

On July 18, 1874, she was married to Nicalus A. Schlichting. They had seven children, all of whom survive their mother. They are Mrs. Mary Lebo, Devils Tower, Wyo,; Mrs. Elsie Watson, Los Angeles, Cal.; Fred N. Schlichting, Atlesbury, Sask., Can.; Mrs. Minnie Lawrence, Ranch Creek, Mont,; Mrs. Jefson, Mrs. Clara Musie, Gillette, Wyo., and Arthur H. Schlichting, Nappa, Cal. Twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. and Mrs. Schlichting came to Garner in 1898 and settled on a farm east of Miller, retiring from this farm to Garner in 1910. On July 18, 1924, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's Lutheran church in Garner Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. H. R. Wrede in charge.
