Seaman Killed In Pacific Area
Kenneth Olson Was on Shipboard 3 Months
Kanawha - Word was received Thursday by Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Olson of Kanawha, that their son, Keneth Lee Olson, fireman 1/c of the navy, was killed in action in the south Pacific theater.
He was 20 years of age on Oct. 14, 1944, and had been in service since October, 1943, receiving his boot training at Farragut, Idaho.
He had been on shipboard for 3 months.

Plan Memorial
Kanawha - Memorial services for Kenneth Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Olson, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Kanawha Lutheran church. Kenneth was killed in action Dec. 7 while on duty with the navy in the south Pacific.

Memorial Rite Held for Kenneth Olson, 20
Kanawha - Memorial services were held at the Kanawha Lutheran church Sunday for Kenneth Olson, who was killed in action Dec. 7, 1944, while on duty in the south Pacific area.
Kenneth Lee Olson was born in Kanawha Oct. 14, 1924, a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Olson. His entire life was spent here and he had finished the junior year in the local high school when he entered the navy in October, 1943. He received his boot training at Farragut, Idaho. He was sent to Fort Pierce Fla.; where he received amphibious training. On Oct. 3, 1944, he left New York for sea duty. He was a fireman 1/c.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Olson, and a brother, Duane.
