News Is Received at Garner of Death of Former Resident

Garner - Friends here have received news of the death of Mrs. Iris Brown Blackwell, a former resident, which occurred Saturday at her home in Los Angeles, Cal., where her health had been failing for several months.

Mrs. Blackwell's body is being brought to Garner for burial beside her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Brown, in Concord cemetery.

Surviving are one daughter, Iris, of Los Angeles; and two sons, Duane of St. Louis, Mo., and Lyden of Sioux Falls, S. Dak. Mrs. Blackwell was born and grew to womanhood here. She moved to California a few years ago.
