Louis G. Roberts

Britt - Louis Gotthold Roberts, 89, died Tuesday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stanley Huesemann will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Masonic rites will be held at Grupe Funeral Home Friday at 8 p.m.

Born Nov. 25, 1878, at Irving, Iowa, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Roberts. He worked on the newspaper in LeMars until coming to Britt in 1900. He was employed by the Britt News. He and his brother later formed the Britt News Tribune and were co publishers more than 50 years. He retired in 1952.

Surviving are a sister, Edith Craig, Hartwick, Iowa; and a brother, Mark, Osage.
