Mrs. Mutschler Dead

Passes Away Suddenly at Her Home Southeast of Buffalo Center

Cathrina Mutschler, nee Walter, was born November 29, 1863, in Wurttenburg, Germany, and died suddenly but peaceably in her Lord, July 14, 1903, in Winnebago county, near Buffalo Center, Iowa, aged thirty nine years, seven months and fifteen days.

She was raised in Germany in the fear of the Lord, under the Christian influence of her parents and the training of the church, the Evangelical Association. She was converted to God in the days of her youth and joined the church.

In 1889 she came with her parents to America and they lived for some time in Pennsylvania, where she was united in marriage to Christ Mutschler in 1890. Later on they moved to Iowa and lived in Franklin, Hancock and Winnebago counties, at which latter place she passed peaceably away after much suffering, however, of short duration. Her earthly joys were much mingled with hardships, labor and sorrow. But in spite of this she maintained a lovely disposition toward all and enjoyed a deep peace in her soul with the Lord of her salvation.

She was a noble, kind and loving wife, and a good mother. Her father and two of her children preceded her in death. She leaves her deeply mourning husband, eleven children, mother, one sister and two brothers, besides a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her sudden demise. But our loss is her gain.

Services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. J. J. Braun, after which the remains were taken to the Woden cemetery for interment.

The following relatives from abroad were in attendance at the funeral: Mrs. Walter, her mother, Mrs. Held, her sister, both of Geneva, Iowa, and Mr. Mutschler, of Ackley, Iowa, a brother to C. Mutschler.
