L. Mitchell, Corwith, Dies
Corwith - Len O. Mitchell, 75, farmer who lived near here, died suddenly at his home early Monday morning following a heart attack.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Boughton Funeral Home, Britt. Services will be at the Methodist Church, Corwith.
He was born Jan. 20, 1882, at Rowe, Ill., the son of Albert and Carrie Holt Mitchell. He attended school at Rowe and later at Corwith. On March 29, 1905, he was married to Miss Jennie Merriem, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Merriem, at the home of the bride's parents. They lived near Corwith and have farmed in that vicinity since.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and Paradise Chapter 553, Masonic Order, Corwith. He served on the school board here and on the town council. He has been a delegate to Republican state and county conventions.
Surviving are his wife, three children, Miss Ellen Mitchell, Des Moines; Mrs. Lismore (Alberta) Maland, Kanawha, and Robert, Corwith, who farmed with his father. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Charles, and a sister, Ella.
