George H. Knoll dies at Garner
Garner - Funeral services for George H. Knoll, 78, will be at St. Boniface Catholic Church here Monday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Robert Palen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with Bohn Funeral Home in charge. The Rosary will be Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He died of a heart attack at his home Friday night. Born July 15, 1888, at Haverhill, he was married to Elizabeth Dankbar in 1916. They came to Garner in 1919 and farmed until retiring in 1956.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Anthony, Marshalltown; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Ann) Pfeiffer, Mankato, Minn.; eight grandchildren, a brother, Fred, Charles City; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey (Emma) Woodward, Mary Dawson, both of Marshalltown. A son Edmond, died in Germany in World War II. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
