John Henry Zrostlik, 86, of Britt, died on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Westview Care Center, Britt.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 28, at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, with Fr. Jerry Blake officiating. Lector was Amelia Golwitzer. Randy and Rusty Hadacek ushered.
Casket bearers were Jerry Kern, Mike Zrostlik, Steven Zrostlik, Pat Hendricks, Dale Golwitzer and Marvin Zrostlik. Burial was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Duncan. The Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
John Henry Zrostlik, the son of John and Mary (Hadacek) Zrostlik was born on July 15, 1919, at Duncan. He attended the rural schools of Garfield Township. John worked for Frank Zrostlik, Peter Engstler and Elmer Urich, retiring in the early 1980's.
In December of 1996 he moved to the Westview Care Center in Britt due to ill health. He enjoyed visiting and listening to Czech music.
He was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Workman FCSLA Branch W51.
John is survived by his sister, Rose Kern of Wesley; his brother, Paul Zrostlik (Lila) of Garner; nine nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and George Zrostlik; two sisters, Betty Holecek and Mary Zrostlik; and two brothers-in-law, Ambrose Kern and Ed Holecek.
