Carol J. Rasmuson, 84, of Britt passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at her home in rural Britt.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 10, at the First Lutheran Church in Britt with Pastor Arlen Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. The Ewing Dugger Funeral Chapel in Britt was in charge of the arrangements.

Carol, the daughter of Edward Leo and Gladys Beatrice (Bailey) Cosgriff, was born on June 19, 1921 in Britt. She grew up in Britt where she attended Britt schools.

On October 31, 1938, Carol was united in marriage with William James Rasmuson in Blue Earth, Minnesota. The couple lived in Stilson for two years and then moved to the family farm near Eagle Lake where Carol still resided.

Carol worked on the family farm many years. She later worked at the milk plant, then Britt Tech and later at Winnebago Industries retiring in 1987.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. She had a great love of the outdoors, especially Eagle Lake Park, with its deer and wildlife. Carol enjoyed traveling, golfing and fishing and loved to sew. Her great passion was quilting and she had pieced and quilted many beautiful quilts.

She was a long time member of the Congregational (UCC) Church in Britt. Carol currently was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt and the Elizabeth Circle at First Lutheran Church. She volunteered with various groups including PTA, Music Mothers, Sunday School, Choir, Unity Class, Scouts, 4-H, American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Club and the Historical Society.

Carol is survived by five children, Marilyn Bruns and husband, Raymond of Britt, Robert Rasmuson and wife, Erlis of Britt, Marjorie Schrader of St. Paul, Minnesota, James Rasmuson of Britt, William J. Rasmuson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, Brian Bruns, Dirk Bruns, Eric Bruns, Wade Bruns, Matthew Bruns, Robin Earles, Gregory Rasmuson, Todd Rasmuson, Kelly Rasmuson, Miner Jay Schrader, Cynthia Cronick, Kurt Schrader, Troy Rasmuson, Traci Goll, Scott Kraft, Doug Kraft, Dan Kraft and Tom Rasmuson; 40 great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Devine and husband, James of Corwith; brother, Kenneth Cosgriff and wife, Carolyn of Winton, North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Bailey Cosgriff and Edward L. Cosgriff; husband, William James Rasmuson; and brother, Paul E. Cosgriff.
