Harvey W. Myers, 1937-2004

Word has been received of the death of Harvey Wilbur Myers of Dallas Center, formerly of Hampton. Mr. Myers died of natural causes on Sunday, March 7, 2004, in the McAllen Medical Center, McAllen, Texas. He was 66.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 15, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bob Connor officiated. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery, Garner. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Harvey Wilbur Myers, was born on June 22, 1937 at Mitchell. He was the son of Harvey W. and Nellie R. (Nichols) Myers. He received his education in the Algona school system. He served in the U.S. Army.

On September 21, 1957, Harvey Myers married Susan J. Haberkamp at Garner. He was employed as a salesman for the North Central Farm Service in Hampton. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Bauer and husband, Ed of Mason City and Patty Holmgaard and husband, Lyle of Mason City; a long time companion and special friend, Velma Renfrow of Dallas Center; three brothers, Oscar and wife, Sharon of Monticello, Minnesota, Art and wife, Iola of Mason City, Ray and wife, Sue of Mason City; three sisters, Violet Hultman and husband, Merle of Oakland, Nebraska; Iris Decker and husband, Jerry of Clear Lake and Roseanne Hinderacker of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Helen Haberkamp of Cedar Falls; two brothers-in-law, C. Burke Haberkamp and wife, Muriel of Garner and Harlan Haberkamp and wife, Virginia of Garner; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Eisenmann and husband, Roy of Wannakee, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Melissa and Laura Bauer, Madelyn and Ian Holmgaard, all of Mason City; many nieces and nephews and long time family friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susan; a sister-in-law, Nancy Jass; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Haberkamp.
