Rose A. Geddes, 92, of Garner, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner, with the Rev. Jerry Blake officiating. Donna Young was the lector. Music was provided by organist, Carolyn Kumsher who accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Robert Kral and Lawrence Engstler.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren. Burial was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Garner. The Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Ann Geddes, the daughter of Michael Casper and Mayme Helen (Hrubes) Malek, was born on April 23, 1912 at Duncan. She attended school at Hayfield where she graduated from high school in 1931.
On April 17, 1933, she was married to Harold Emmett Geddes at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They farmed in the Hayfield area until 1941, and then moved to Miller where they continued to farm. In 1968 they retired and moved into Garner.
She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and Rosary Society.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Sharon Kay (Gorden) Anderson of Scarville, Sally Boomgarden of Britt and Kathy (Ellsworth) Hanson of Garner; eight grandchildren, Diane (Bruce) Steele, Julie (Kent) Swenson, Gorden Jr. (Denise) Anderson, Geoffrey (Jodie) Anderson, Annette (Brian) Larson, Jolene Kaliff, Sheila Graff and Todd Hanson; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Larry Malek of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Malek of Lemont, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, friends and GG Club members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on December 18, 1978; a daughter, Jane Ann Geddes in 2002; her parents; a sister, Marie (Joe) Zrostlik; and three brothers, James (Ella), Rudy (Marjorie) and Alfred (June) Malek.
