Helen Eenhuis, 83, of Barnesville, Minnesota, formerly of Garner, died on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Merit Care Health Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 28, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Miller, with Pastor Rose Viser officiating. Inurnment was in the Madison Township Cemetery south of Forest City. The Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Helen Eenhuis, the daughter of John and Gertje (Wiltz) Knapper, was born on June 26, 1923, in Bancroft. On March 29, 1941, she married Alvin "Bud" Eenhuis at the First Lutheran Church in Britt. They farmed for many years in rural Hancock County. Later, they made their home in Garner. She worked in the school cafeteria for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, sewing, visiting with people and playing cards. She was an excellent cook and loved to teach her grandchildren her recipes. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Miller.
Helen is survived by her sons, Terry (Dawn) Eenhuis of Barnesville, Minnesota and Jerry (Glenda) Eenhuis of Billings, Montana; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Tom) Weyant, Jana (Randy) Bartels, Julie Edney, Deani (Trent) Jones, Scott Eenhuis, Jason Eenhuis, Alyssa Adams and Michelle Meyer; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Bud"; son, Gary; grandson, John; brothers, John Wubben, Henry Wubben, Jerry Knapper and Fredrick Knapper; and sisters, Kate Knapper and Darlene Trumbell.
