Kathryn (Kittie) Isabel Rose was born November 14, 1884 at Hardin, Iowa to Warren Cushman Rose (1846-1902) and Etta Bridget Murphy (1846-1917).

Found in the 1895 & 1900 censuses living at Crystal, Hancock, Iowa:
1895: Kittie Rose age 10.

1900: Ette Rose 53, Nellie T Rose 17, Kittie B Rose 16, Gracie D Rose 10.

Found in the 1910 & 1920 censuses living at Minot, Ward, North Dakota:
1910: Etta B Rose 64 (mother, widowed), Nellie Rose 27, Kathryn Rose 24, Grace Rose 20, Margaret Hyland 24.

1920: Nell Rose 37, Grace Rose 30, Katherine Rose 35.

Kathryn was a member of the US Army Nurse Corps and served in WW1.

Kathryn married Knute Christenson between 1920 - 1921.

The couple had 1 daughter, Etta Marie Christianson (b 1921, d 2002).

(Knute had first been married to Kathryn's niece Mabel Rose and they had had 3 children: Merrill (Merald) (b October 1909 Iowa), Velma (Valva, b 1914) and Mabel (b April 1916 Hancock, Iowa).

Found in the 1925 & 1930 censuses at Crystal, Hancock, Iowa:
1925: Kenite Christenson 37, Cathryn Christenson 39, Merll Christenson 14, Valva Christenson 9, Etta Christenson 3.

1930: Knute Christenson 42, Kathryn E Christenson 45, Valva G Christenson 16, Etta M Christenson 8, John Daniels 20.

After Knute died, Kathryn moved west to Minot, Ward, North Dakota and can be found in Minot's City Directories from the 1930's to the 1950's, she was working as a nurse.

Kathryn Christenson died on March 17, 1984 at Lake Oswego, Clackamas, Oregon and is buried at the Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, Ward, North Dakota.
