RETIRED FARMER BURIED AT BRITT

J. E. Stevenson, 82, Janitor of Methodist Church Laid to Rest

BRITT, Feb. 16 - Funeral rites for J. E. Stevenson, who died at his home Tuesday evening, following an attack of acute indigestion were held at the M. E. church here yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Mr. Eggleston was in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Stevenson was born in Ohio in 1846, being past 82 years old at time of his death. In 1898 the Stevenson family moved to Hancock county, settling on a farm *** of Britt. Fifteen years later he retired, moving to Britt. Mr. Stevenson has been janitor of the Methodist church for 13 years, this last Sunday being the first time he has ever missed being there.

Besides his aged wife, Mr. Stevenson leaves four daughters and one son; Mrs. Klein, Gully, Minn.; Mrs. Baker, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. R. L. McMillan, Florida; Mrs. Michener, South Dakota, and Harold of Britt.
