Andrew B. Riggle of Corwith Succumbs following illness
CORWITH - Andrew B. Riggle, 55, resident of Corwith for 44 years, died early Friday morning at a Mason City hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Riggle operated a threshing machine on farms near Corwith for 36 years seasons beginning to work on a machine when he was 16 years old. He lived at the Amana Colonies from 1931 to 1934 where he operated a saw mill. He saw service on the Mexican border in 1916 as a member of Company B, first Iowa Infantry, the U. S. national guard.
Surviving are his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Riggle of Corwith, and nine brothers and sisters, Mrs. Belle Sutcliffe of Corwith; Sid of Forest City; Ray of Crystal Lake; George, Charles, Mrs. Glenn Dunlap and Russell of Corwith; Mrs. Pearl Keuhn of Artesia, Cal., and John, now at Kitlery, Maine.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. A. J. Barkley officiating.
