Death of Young Girl at Garner Is Caused by Heart Rheumatism
GARNER, Jan. 22 - Funeral services were held this afternoon for Dagna Jergensen, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Jergensen, at 1:30 o'clock in the Congregational church. Her death came from from rheumatism of the heart which has troubled her for several years.
She was born in Britt and later with her parents moved to Garner where Mr. Jergensen did contract work in guard rails in road construction. For the past two years they have lived on the Paul Suhumskie farm about two miles northeast. In a two years' interim the family spent time in Florida in the hope that a warmer climate might improve the little girl's health and, it seemed, for a time to do. Only a week ago she attended school which she loved. She was a faithful attendant at the Congregational Bible school.
Pallbearers were from the the sophomore class in town of which she was member. The Rev. Mr. Milne, pastor of the Clear Lake Congregational church officiated. Burial was in Concord cemetery.
Besides her father and mother, Dagua is survived by a 2 year old brother and an 8 year old sister.
