JOHN HUGHES BRITT, DIES

Early pioneer of Hancock County Is Victim of Stroke

BRITT - One of Hancock county's pioneers, John Hughes, 70, died Thursday of a paralytic stroke. He was a farmer for 40 years.

He is survived by his widow, six sons and three daughters, Lawrence of Oshan; Mrs. Oscar McAlte, Wansel; Mrs. Friberg, Spencer; William and Lea of Britt; John of Redfield; Dean of Britt; Mrs. William Moorman, Minneapolis, and Raymond of Britt.

The six sons acted as pallbearers.

Funeral services were conducted at 9 o'clock Monday morning from St. Patrick's church in Britt with the Rev. Father J. P. Quirin in charge. Interment was at St. Patrick's cemetery, Britt, with Boughton's funeral service in charge.
