Byron Hogan rites set for Monday
Funeral Mass for Byron J. Hogan, 67, 708 3rd NE, retired car salesman who died Friday in a Rochester, Minn., hospital, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church.
He was born Dec. 18, 1903, in Rockwell, the son of Edward and Alice (Hayes) Hogan. He came to Mason City in 1906 with his family. He was graduated from Mason City High School and Junior College. He married Stella Brcka, Oct. 21, 1929, in Holy Family Church.
For 28 years, he was a foreman for Lyons Launderers and Cleaners, and from 1951 to 1970 he was a salesman with Sedars Pontiac and Cadillac.
Mr. Hogan is survived by one brother, Dalavin Hogan, Milwaukee, Wis. There are also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife.
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Arthur J. Breen, pastor of Holy Family, will celebrate the Mass. Pallbearers will be Leonard and George Paca, Charles and George Brcka, Elmer Urich and Bill Jakoubek. Ushers at the church will be Kenneth and Ray Paca and Clarence Brcka.
Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Duncan, with The Rev. John Chihak officiating.
Parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel after 10 a.m. Sunday.
