Waldo Burgardt dies at 65; Rites Firday
BRITT - Waldo E. Burgardt, 65, died in Hamburg hospital Monday. Born Feb. 29, 1896, at Britt, he was the son of Nicholas and Hannah Thrams Burgardt. He was graduated from Britt High High School and attended Hamilton College, Mason City, and Drake University. He was a veteran of the Navy in World War I.
He was employed in the First National Bank of Mason City and in banks in Caldwel, Idaho, and El Centro, Calif. He had retired because of eye trouble. He was a member of the American Legion and AF & AM, Barius Lodge, Britt.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Harold Henry will officiate. Military services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at Boughton Funeral Home, Britt, Thursday at 8 p.m.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Otto (Elsie) Gilster, Los Angeles; Mrs. Flora Nassen, Clear Lake; Mrs. Royal (Serena) Dickson, Sauk City, Wis.; Mrs. Robert (Veleda) Newberg, Salt Lake City; Miss Esther Burgardt, Mineapolis; four brothers, Clarence, Britt; Clayton, West Des Moines; Clyde, San Gabriel, Calif.; Erwin, Plover.
