Services for Veryl L. Janes, 78, Britt, who died Sunday, July 1, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, were held Thursday, July 5, 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Britt with Rev. Brent Wassink officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Glenda Wassink; pianist, Peg Eisenman; and soloist, Larry Eekhoff. Ushers were Harold Pommer and Herbert Schreur.

Casket bearers were Brian Schmidt, Garen Janes, Kelly Janes, Steve Ruter, Dave Ruter and Ron Janes.

Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Veryl LuVerne Janes, the son of Harry and Mae Bowen Janes, was born October 4, 1911 near Williams where he received his education.

December 24, 1930, he married Ella Greenfield at Webster City. The couple farmed near Williams and Blairsburg for 10 years. They then moved to a farm north o f Wesley where they resided until 1957 when they moved to Britt. Veryl was employed with Standard Service and he also drove school bus for 18 years.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Woden and he later transferred his membership to the Christian Reformed Church in Britt. He was a member of the Britt Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Janes of Britt; four children, Willis and his wife, Phyllis Janes of Britt, Verla and her husband, Jere Schmidt of Britt, Deloris and her husband, Robert Ruter of Kanawha, Keith and his wife, Sandy Janes of Britt; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one great granddaughter.
