Gertrude Jacobson

1911-1995

Services for Gertrude Jacobson, 83, Britt, who died Saturday, April 15, 1995 at her home, were held Wednesday, April 19, 2 p.m., at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Britt with Rev. Harlan Stenberg as officiant. Helen McLaughlin gave a meditation.

Music was provided by organist, Leann Buns, and soloist, Charles T. McLaughlin.

Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Jacobson, the daughter of John and Aukea Berg Bode, was born November 5, 1911 in Woden. She received her education in Woden and Britt.

February 26, 1938, she married Harold B. Jacobson in Woden.

She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Britt. She was a master bridge player, earning numerous master points and she also liked to play golf. She was an office holder with the Women's Fellowship and the Britt Women's Club and participated in a Bible Study group.

She is survived by her son, Jim and his wife, Alice Jacobson of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Jill and her husband, Patrick Morelli of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren, Anne Morelli and Alan Jacobson; three sisters in law, Betty and her husband, Robert Anderson of Indian Head Park, IL, Margaret Bode of Phoenix, AZ, and Kay Jacobson of Britt; many nieces and nephews, Marilyn Bryan and John Bode, Jim Bode and Bev Larson, Deb Cole and Roger Jacobson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.
