Agnes Ludeke

KLEMME - Funeral services for Mrs. Henry A. (Agnes) Ludeke, 77, will be Friday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church here. The Rev. J. E. Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in the Klemme Cemetery with Johnston Funeral Home of Klemme in charge.

Mrs. Ludeke died Tuesday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. She had suffered a stroke that morning.

Born at Boscobel, Wis., July 14, 1889, she was the daughter of William and Ella Greene. She was married Oct. 22, 1918, to Henry A. Ludeke. They farmed many years in the Klemme and Meservey area. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Paul W. Ludeke, Buckner, Mo.; three brothers, Lyle Greene, Boscobel; Raymond Greene, Madison, Wis.; Neal Greene, Viroqua, Wis.; three sisters, Gladys McDaniel and Wilda Gerard, both of Boscobel; Esther Phillips, Luis Obispo, Calif.

MRS. AGNES LUDEKE - 1889-1967

Mrs. Ludeke was born at Boscobel, Wisconsin on July 14, 1889, the daughter of William T. and Ella Greene. The early years of her life were spent in Wisconsin where she attended school.

On October 22, 1918, she was united in marriage to Henry A. Ludeke at Boscobel Wisconsin. Together they began farming at the northwest edge of Klemme and five years later moved to a farm 1/2 mile west of Klemme, where they farmed and operated a sorghum manufacturing plant.

In 1930 they bought a farm 2 miles north of Klemme and lived there 2 years, and then purchased a larger farm near Meservey, where they resided until retirement, when they moved into their home in Klemme.

Mrs. Ludeke was an active member of the Methodist Church of Klemme.

She had suffered a stroke early Tuesday morning at her home. Mrs. Ludeke passed away late Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 1967 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Surviving are: One son, Paul W. Ludeke, Buckner, Wisconsin, also surviving are 3 brothers and 3 sisters:

Lyle Greene, Boscobel, Wisconsin; Raymond Greene, Madison, Wisconsin; Neil Greene, Viroqua, Wisconsin; Mrs. Gladys McDaniel, Boscobel, Wisconsin; Mrs. Esther Phillips, San Luis Obispo, Cal.; Mrs. Wilda Gerard, Boscobel, Wisconsin; also 2 grandchildren: Larry Paul and Lynne Melton Ludeke

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; as well as an infant daughter, Ruth Agnes.
