BRITT - Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence (Lorena) Smith, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Considine, pastor of United Methodist Church of Corwith, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Following the service there will be a Rebekah service at the funeral home, conducted by the Charity Rebekah Lodge of Britt.

Eastern Star services will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.

Lorena Mary Wagner, daughter of Henry and Lucy Kennedy Wagner, was born March 27, 1895 near Corwith. She was married to Clarence L. Smith July 2, 1913 and they farmed in the Kanawha Britt area. He died April 26, 1964.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Corwith United Methodist Church, first chairman of the Sunshine Circle of the church, a member of Charity Rebekah Lodge in Britt 54 years and of Paradise Chapter of Eastern Star in Corwith 40 years. She belonged to the DYT Club. Home Circle Club and was active in the Republican party and Farm Bureau.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday morning at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt after an illness of several months.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Fern) Paulson, Wesley; a son, Calvin, Kanawha; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Eva Dunlap, Algona.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
