BRITT — Ardath B. Schaper, 78, of Britt, died Thursday (Oct. 23, 1986) at the Britt hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Britt with the Rev. Herbert G. Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery here.

Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt.

She was born Aug. 29, 1908, in Irving, Kan., to Simon and Ella (Roberts) Strader. She attended school in Winfield, Kan., and Southwestern College there.

On June 22, 1928, she married Clifford Schaper. They farmed east of Britt in 1929 and in 1959 they moved to a farm south of Britt.. In September 1985 she moved to Britt.

She was a member of the Britt United Methodist Church. She was past president of the following organizations: Women's Society of Christian Service, Britt Methodist Church, Britt Women's Club, and Britt Band Mothers. She was also a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She served two terms on the Hancock County Extension Council and was active in fund raising for the Hancock Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharron Huffman of Evergreen, Colo., and Martha Fairfield of Billings, Mont.; one son Darrell of Britt; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, four sisters and two brothers.
