Services For Mrs. Phillips Held

Woden: Funeral rites for Mrs. Hattie Phillips were held Friday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral Home at Britt with the Rev. E. R. Peterson, of Buffalo Center, officiating.

Mrs. Phillips died on Nov. 28 at the State Hospital at Cherokee where she had been a patient the past two years. She was 80 years of age.

Following the death of her husband, Dan Phillips, in 1902, Mrs. Phillips made her home with the Andy Phillips family near Woden (her husband was an uncle of the late Andy Phillips) and later was a housekeeper for A. J. Sweet. After the death of Mr. Sweet, she again returned to the Andy Phillips home until 1943 when she became a resident of the Hancock County Home. She remained there until two years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Phillips is one daughter, Esther, of the Hancock County Home, and other relatives of this vicinity.

Burial was made in Bingham Township cemetery.
